Daylight follows this

Dark and brooding pushed aside to work, but then, in a moment to breathe or to break the pace of work, it's back. Luckily, daylight follows this.

Thievery Advisory

"Here Come The Warm Jets" is Brian Eno's debut album and the title of a tune I don't particularly like. The title, however, is poetry.

What are warm jets?

Waves of pleasure that come from beautiful things that inspire head & heart.

Here come the warm jets

The female head tilt Part 1

Today's 500 is about the female head tilt.

Which is very different from the tilt with a chin up, out and to the side, as part of the tilt.

The latter says, "Oh yeah?" The former asks, "Don’t I look pretty?"

Neither of which, I've decide, are worth much.

I first started noticing the head tilt last year,

I looked at how many times I noticed posing with my head tilted to a side, as if straight on, just being straight ahead, my less than perfect loveliness was going to show. I even have a picture with my husband where I do the chin-down, eyes up. I looked really cute. I cherish that photo. It's proof of my beauty. All those other shots, where I look less than comely, I've thrown away as many as I could find, and the rest, although they still linger somewhere and most disturbingly on my mind, I push them outta there as often as I can.

The coquetterie of the female head tilt riles the ‘70s feminists that still smoulders inside me. It says, my god, you’re already gorgeous. Why can’t you just present that straight on, your expression saying, I am beautiful. Instead, you’re saying to the view, “I know I’m beautiful, but I need you to tell me. And oh, I don’t want to presume.”

Really, the head tilt says, “I am not worthy to accept my beauty, but will get a lot closer to it if I could hear it from you.”

The only reason it’s a big deal today was because I saw my gorgeous roommate swing her hair to one side, tilting her head, to exhibit even more beauty.

Which is overkill, in my view.

Today’s 500 is only 280.
